Infamous Victims

December 1993 | Yolanda Tapia, 50, is found with a wooden object in her vagina and stabbed in the head. She is believed to have been the victim of domestic violence.

August 1995 | Gloria Elena Escobedo, 20, is found raped. She bled to death vaginally. She was a victim of her stepfather.

November 1995 | Cecilia Covarrubias Aguilar, 18, and her 6-month-old baby are abducted. Aguilar bled to death, but the baby was never found.

July 1996 | Rocio Aguero Miranda, 28, is found in a barrel of acid and had been raped by 17 men.

December 1996 | Brenda Lizeth Najera, 15, and Susana Flores Flores, 13, disappear on their way to school. They were found at the home of Brenda’s boyfriend. Both had been raped, and Brenda’s body showed signs of torture. Susana had suffered four heart attacks. They were kept tied up for almost two weeks before being shot in the head. When Brenda’s boyfriend was asked why he did it, he said it was because Brenda had kissed another boy. At the time of the killing, Brenda’s boyfriend was 17.

January 1998 | Silvia Gabriela Laguna Cruz, 16, is raped and stabbed in the chest 20 times. She was found with an object nailed to her chest.

September 1998 | Hester Van Hierop, 27, from the Netherlands is found under a hotel room bed with her throat slit.
